1. परिचय (Introduction):-

·         सामान्य नाम:- मूँगफली

(Common name:- Groundnut)

·         वानस्पतिक नाम:- Arachis hypogaea

(Botanical Name:- Arachis hypogaea)

·         कुल:- लेग्यूमिनोसी या फैबेसी

(Family:- Leguminosae or Fabaceae)

·     उपकुल:- पैपिलिओनेसी 

(Sub family:- Papilionaceae)

·         उत्पत्ति केन्द्र (Center of Origin):- केन्द्रीय ब्राजील। मूँगफली की चतुर्गुणित कृष्य जाति Arachis   hypogaea की उत्पत्ति चतुर्गुणित जंगली जाति Arachis montical से हुई है।

(Central Brazil is considered as center of origin. Arachis hypogaea, a tetraploid species of groundnut, originated from the tetraploid wild species Arachis montical.)
