1. परिचय (Introduction):-
· सामान्य नाम:- अरहर, लाल चना
(Common Name:- Pigeon pea, Red gram)
· वानस्पतिक नाम:- Cajanus cajan
(Botanical Name:- Cajanus cajan)
· कुल:- लेग्यूमिनोसी या फैबेसी
(Family:- Leguminosae or Fabaceae)
· उपकुल:- पैपिलिओनेसी
(Sub-family:- Papilionaceae)
· गुणसूत्र संख्या:- 2n = 2x = 22
(Chromosome Numbers:- 2n = 2x = 22)
· अरहर सूखे के प्रति सहिष्णु होता है।
(Pigeon pea is tolerant to drought.)
· अरहर का मूसला मूल तंत्र बहुत अधिक गहरा व अधिक शाखित होता है।
(The tap root system of pigeon pea is much deeper and more branched.)
· विश्व की 82% अरहर की खेती भारत में की जाती है।
(82% of the world's pigeon pea is cultivated in India.)
· अरहर के बीजों में तीन मुख्य घटक प्रचुरता से पाये जाते हैं:-
(Three main components are found abundantly in pigeon pea seeds: -)
i. प्रोटीन (Protein):- इसमें आवश्यक अमीनो अम्ल जैसे लाइसिन, टायरोसिन, सिस्टीन व आर्जिनिन प्रचुर मात्रा में पाये जाते हैं।
(It contains abundant amounts of essential amino acids such as lysine, tyrosine, cysteine and arginine.)
ii. आयरन (Iron)
iii. आयोडीन (Iodine)
2. उत्पत्ति केन्द्र (Center of Origin):-
· अरहर के 3 उत्पत्ति केन्द्र माने जाते हैं –
(The 3 origin centers of pigeon pea are considered -)
i. भारत (India)
ii. अफ्रीका (Africa)
iii. ऑस्ट्रेलिया (Australia):- यहाँ अरहर की 15 जंगली जातियाँ पायी जाती हैं।
(There are 15 wild species of pigeon pea.)
· ऐसा माना जाता है कि कृष्य अरहर की उत्पत्ति जंगली जाति Cajanus cajanifolius से हुई है।
(It is believed that the cultivated pigeon pea is originated from the wild species Cajanus cajanifolius.)
3. जातियाँ (Species):- अरहर की कुल 32 जातियाँ हैं। इनमें से मुख्य निम्न हैं -
