रंध्रीय कार्यिकी: संरचना, आवृति, वितरण और रंध्र के खुलने व बंद होने की क्रियाविधि (Stomatal Physiology: Structure, Frequency, Distribution and Stomatal Opening and Closing Mechanism):-

रंध्र की संरचना (Structure of Stomata):-

·   रंध्रों को Pfeffer द्वारा खोजा गया था और 'stomata' नाम Malphigii द्वारा दिया गया था।

(Stomata was discovered by Pfeffer & name ‘stomata’ was given by Malphigii.)

·   रंध्र पर्ण के 1-2% क्षेत्र पर पाये जाते हैं।

(Stomata cover 1-2% of leaf area.)

·   रंध्र दीर्घवृताकार आकृति के सूक्ष्म छिद्र होते हैं, जिनमें दो विशेष अधिचर्म कोशिकाएं होती हैं जिन्हें द्वार कोशिकाएं कहा जाता है।

(Stomata are minute pores of elliptical shape, consists of two specialized epidermal cell called guard cells.)

·  द्वार कोशिकाएं द्विबीजपत्री पौधों में वृक्काकार और एकबीजपत्री पौधों में डंबलनुमा होती हैं।

(The guard cells are kidney shape in dicots and dumbell shape in monocots.)

·   द्वार कोशिका की छिद्र के चारों ओर की भित्ति मोटी व लोच रहित होती है जबकि शेष भित्तियाँ पतली, लोचदार और अर्ध-पारगम्य होती हैं।

(The wall of the guard cell surrounding the pore is thicken and inelastic while rest of the walls are thin, elastic and semi-permeable.)

·   द्वार कोशिका का हरितलवक बहुत कम प्रकाश संश्लेषण करता है, क्योंकि रूबिस्को एंजाइम अनुपस्थित होता है।

(The chloroplast of guard cell are capable of very poor photosynthesis, because the absence of RUBISCO enzyme.)

·   द्वार कोशिकाएं रूपान्तरित अधिचर्म कोशिकाओं से घिरी होती हैं, जिन्हें सहायक कोशिकायें कहते हैं, जो द्वार कोशिकाओं की गति में सहायता करती हैं।

(Guard cells are surrounded by modified epidermal cells, known as subsidiary cells or accessory cells, which supports in the movement of guard cells.)
