Non-allelic Gene Interactions with examples:-
1. Masking Genes:- जब दो अयुग्म विकल्पी जीन परस्पर इस प्रकार से क्रिया करते हैं कि प्रभावी युग्मविकल्पी दूसरे अयुग्म विकल्पी के प्रभाव को दबा देता है तो इसे Masking gene कहते हैं। इसे प्रभावी Epistasis भी कहते हैं। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात परिवर्तित हो जाता है। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात 12 : 3 : 1 आता है।
(When two non-allelic genes interact with each other in such a way that the dominant allele suppresses the effect of the other non-allele, it is called as masking gene. It is also called as dominant epistasis. In this, the phenotypic ratio is changed to 12 : 3 : 1.)
उदाहरण:- चप्पन कद्दू में फल का रंग
(Example:- Color of fruit in Summer squash)
(Summer squash or Chappan Kaddu = Cucurbita pepo)
2. Inhibitory Genes:-
यह एक प्रभावी युग्म विकल्पी होता है जिसका खुद का कोई लक्षण प्रारूप नहीं होता है। परन्तु दूसरे अयुग्म विकल्पी की अभिव्यक्ति को रोक देता है। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात परिवर्तित हो जाता है। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात 13 : 3 आता है।
(It is a dominant allele which has no character of its own. But inhibit the expression of the another non-allele. In this, the phenotypic ratio is changed to 13 : 3.)
उदाहरण:- धान में पत्तियों का रंग
(Example:- Color of leaves in paddy)
3. Polymeric Genes:- एक प्रभावी युग्म विकल्पी का खुद का लक्षण प्रारूप होता है। परन्तु यह दूसरे प्रभावी अयुग्म विकल्पी के साथ मिलकर लक्षण की तीव्रता को बढ़ा देता है, Polymeric Gene कहलाता है। इसे Additive Gene या Cumulative Gene भी कहते हैं। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात परिवर्तित हो जाता है। इसमें लक्षण प्रारूप अनुपात 9 : 6 : 1 आता है।
(A dominant allele which has its own character. But it increases the intensity of the trait when combined with another dominant allele, called a polymeric gene. It is also called Additive Gene or Cumulative Gene. In this, the phenotypic ratio is changed to 9 : 6 : 1.)
