Introduction and importance of organic manures
Introduction (परिचय):-
Organic manures are natural products used by farmers to enhanced sustainable crop production. There are a number of organic manures like farm yard
manure, green manures, compost prepared from crop residues and other farm
wastes, vermi-compost, oil cakes, and biological wastes - animal bones,
slaughter house refuse.
(जैविक खाद प्राकृतिक उत्पाद हैं जिनका उपयोग किसान टिकाऊ फसल उत्पादन बढ़ाने के लिए करते हैं। फार्म की खाद, हरी खाद, फसल के अवशेषों और अन्य खेत के कचरे से तैयार खाद, केंचुआ-खाद, तेल खली, और जैविक अपशिष्ट - जानवरों की हड्डियां, बूचड़खानों का कचरा आदि कई जैविक खादें हैं।)
Importance
of organic manures (जैविक खादों का महत्व):-

Organic manure binds soil particles into structural units called aggregates.
These aggregates help to maintain a loose, open, granular condition. Water
infiltrates and percolates more readily. The granular condition of soil
maintains favourable condition of aeration and permeability.
(जैविक खाद मृदा के कणों को संरचनात्मक इकाइयों में बांधती है, जिन्हें समुच्चय कहते हैं। ये समुच्चय एक विरल, खुली व दानेदार स्थिति बनाए रखने में सहायता करते हैं। जल मृदा में अधिक आसानी से प्रवेश करता और रिसता है। जैविक पदार्थ मिश्रित करने से उपत्पन्न हुई मृदा की दानेदार स्थिति वातन और पारगम्यता की अनुकूल स्थिति बनाए रखती है।)

Water-holding capacity is increased by organic matter. Organic matter
definitely increases the amount of available water in sandy and loamy soils.
Further, the granular soil resulting from organic matter additions, supplies
more water than sticky and impervious soil.
(जैविक पदार्थों को मिश्रित करने से जल धारण क्षमता में वृद्धि होती है। जैविक पदार्थ निश्चित रूप से रेतीली और दोमट मृदा में उपलब्ध जल की मात्रा को बढ़ाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, जैविक पदार्थों को मिश्रित करने से उत्पन्न दानेदार मृदा चिपचिपी और अभेद्य मृदा की तुलना में अधिक जल की आपूर्ति करती है।)

Surface run off and erosion are reduced by organic matter as there is good
infiltration.
(सतही अपवाह और अपरदन जैविक पदार्थों द्वारा कम किया जाता है क्योंकि इसमें अच्छा जल प्रवेश करता है।)

Organic matter or organic manure on the soil surface reduces losses of soil by
wind erosion.
(मृदा की सतह पर जैविक पदार्थ या जैविक खाद हवा के द्वारा अपरदन से मृदा की हानि को कम करता है।)

Surface mulching with coarse organic matter lowers soil temperatures in the
summer and keeps soil warmer in winter.
(मोटे जैविक पदार्थों से मृदा की सतही मल्चिंग करने से गर्मियों में मृदा का तापमान कम हो जाता है और सर्दियों में मृदा को गर्म रखता है।)

The organic matter serves as a source of energy for the growth of soil
microorganisms.
(जैविक पदार्थ मृदा के सूक्ष्मजीवों की वृद्धि के लिए ऊर्जा के स्रोत के रूप में कार्य करते हैं।)

Organic matter serves as a reservoir of chemical elements that are essential
for plant growth. Most of the soil nitrogen occurs in organic combination. Also
a considerable quantity of phosphorus and sulphur exist in organic forms upon
decomposition, organic matter supplies the nutrients needed by growing plants,
as well as many hormones and antibiotics.
(जैविक पदार्थ पौधों की वृद्धि के लिए आवश्यक रासायनिक तत्वों के भंडार के रूप में कार्य करता है। मृदा नाइट्रोजन का अधिकांश भाग जैविक संयोजन में होता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, फॉस्फोरस और सल्फर की एक बड़ी मात्रा जैविक रूपों में उपस्थित होती है। अपघटन पर जैविक पदार्थ वृद्धि कर रहे पौधों के लिए आवश्यक पोषक तत्वों के साथ-साथ कई हार्मोन्स और एंटीबायोटिक्स की आपूर्ति करता है।)

Fresh organic matter has a special function in making soil phosphorus more
readily available in acid soils.
(अम्लीय मृदा में फास्फोरस को अधिक आसानी से उपलब्ध कराने में ताजे जैविक पदार्थों का विशेष यीग्दान होता है।)

Organic acids released from decomposing organic matter help to reduce
alkalinity in soils.
(जैविक पदार्थों के अपघटन से निकलने वाले कार्बनिक अम्ल मृदा में क्षारीयता को कम करने में सहायता करते हैं।)
10.
Fresh organic matter supplies food for such soil life as earthworms, ants and
rodents. These macro-organisms improve drainage and aeration. Earthworms can
flourish only in soils that are well provided with organic matter.
(ताजा जैविक पदार्थ मिट्टी के जीवों जैसे केंचुआ, चींटियों और कृन्तकों के लिए भोजन की आपूर्ति करता है। ये वृहद-जीव जल निकासी और वातायन में सुधार करते हैं। केंचुए केवल उसी मृदा में पनप सकते हैं जो अच्छी तरह से जैविक पदार्थ ये युक्त होती है।)

Organic matter on decomposition produces organic acids and carbon dioxide which
help to dissolve minerals such as potassium and make them more available to
growing plants.
(अपघटन पर जैविक पदार्थ कार्बनिक अम्ल और कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड उत्पन्न करता है जो पोटेशियम जैसे खनिजों को घोलने में सहायता करता है और उन्हें वृद्धि कर रहे पौधों के लिए अधिक उपलब्ध कराता है।)

Humus (highly decomposed organic matter) provides a storehouse for the
exchangeable and available cations – potassium, calcium and magnesium. Ammonium
fertilizers are also prevented from leaching because humus holds ammonium in an
exchangeable and available form.
(ह्यूमस एक अत्यधिक अपघटित जैविक पदार्थ है जो विनिमय हो सकने वाले और उपलब्ध धनायनों - पोटेशियम, कैल्शियम और मैग्नीशियम के लिए एक भंडारगृह प्रदान करता है। यह अमोनियम उर्वरकों को लीचिंग से भी रोकता है क्योंकि ह्यूमस अमोनियम को एक विनिमय हो सकने वाले और उपलब्ध रूप में रखता है।)

It acts as a buffering agent. Buffering checks rapid chemical changes in pH and
in soil reaction.
