Cucurbits (कद्दू वर्गीय फल): Powdery mildew, Mosaic, Choanephora rot and Root knot:-

1. Powdery mildew (पाउडरी मिल्ड्यू):- Erysiphe cichoracearum (Family = Erysiphaceae), Sphaerotheca fuligena.

The genus Erysiphe is an obligate parasite causing powdery mildew disease on a wide range of higher plants.

(Erysiphe वंश एक अविकल्पी परजीवी है जो उच्च पौधों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला पर पाउडरी मिल्ड्यू रोग का कारण बनता है।)

Host range (परपोषी परास):- Powdery mildews are obligate parasites. They can׳t survive without a living host. Unlike most plant pathogen fungi, which grow within plant tissue, powdery mildews live epiphytically on the outer surface of plants in mats of whitish hyphae. Powdery mildew is a common disease on many types of plants such as Pumpkins, bottle gourd, Coccinia, cucumber, ridge gourd. Bitter gourd is less affected. It is caused by different species of Erysiphe, which is an ectoparasite.

(पाउडरी मिल्ड्यू अविकल्पी परजीवी होते हैं। वे बिना जीवित परपोषी के जीवित नहीं रह सकते। अधिकांश पादप रोगजनक कवकों के विपरीत, जो पादप ऊतकों के भीतर वृद्धि करते हैं, पाउडरी मिल्ड्यू पौधों की बाहरी सतह पर सफेद कवक तंतुओं के मैट में अधिपादप रूप से रहते हैं। पाउडरी मिल्ड्यू एक सामान्य रोग है जो कई प्रकार के पौधों पर होता है जैसे कद्दू, लौकी, कच्ची लौकी, खीरा, तोरी। करेला कम प्रभावित होता है। यह रोग Erysiphe की विभिन्न जातियों के कारण होता है, जो एक बाह्य परजीवी है।)
