Classification of Vegetables (सब्जियों का वर्गीकरण):-

Botanical Classification (वनस्पतिक वर्गीकरण):- Vegetables can be classified based on their botanical families, which often determines their cultivation requirements and pest management. Here are some common families and their representative vegetables:

(सब्जियों को उनके वनस्पतिक कुलों के आधार पर वर्गीकृत किया जाता है, जो अक्सर उनकी खेती की आवश्यकताओं और कीट प्रबंधन को निर्धारित करता है। यहां कुछ सामान्य परिवार और उनके प्रतिनिधि सब्जियाँ हैं:)

i. Solanaceae (Nightshade Family) [सोलेनेसी (नाइटशेड कुल)]:-

Tomato (टमाटर) (Solanum lycopersicum)

Brinjal (बैंगन) (Solanum melongena)

Capsicum (मिर्च) (Capsicum annuum)

Potato (आलू) (Solanum tuberosum)

ii. Brassicaceae (Mustard Family) [ब्रेसीकेसी (सरसों कुल)]:-

Cabbage (पत्तागोभी) (Brassica oleracea)

Cauliflower (फूलगोभी) (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis)

Broccoli (ब्रोकली) (Brassica oleracea var. italica)

Kale (केल) (Brassica oleracea var. sabellica)

iii. Cucurbitaceae (Gourd Family) [कुकुर्बिटेसी (गुयार्ड कुल)]:-

Cucumber (खीरा) (Cucumis sativus)

v. Apiaceae (Carrot Family) [एपिएसी (गाजर परिवार)]:-

Classification Based upon Growth Habit (वृद्धि स्वभाव के आधार पर वर्गीकरण):- Vegetables are also classified based on their growth habits:

i. Root Vegetables (जड़ वाली सब्जियाँ):-

ii. Tuberous Vegetables (कंद वाली सब्जियाँ):-

i. Cooking Vegetables (पकाने वाली सब्जियाँ):-

ii. Salad Vegetables (सलाद सब्जियाँ):-

Lettuce (सलाद)

iii. Pickling Vegetables (अचार सब्जियाँ):-

i. Kharif Vegetables (grown during the monsoon season) [खरीफ सब्जियाँ (मानसून के मौसम में उगाई जाती हैं)]:-
