ii. Family (कुल):- Poaceae (Gramineae).

iii. Origin (उत्पत्ति):- Maize (Zea mays), also known as corn, originated in southern Mexico around 7,000 to 10,000 years ago. It was domesticated from a wild grass called teosinte. Maize became a staple food crop in the Americas and spread to other parts of the world after the arrival of Europeans in the 15th century.
