Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yogana- features, significant and limitation:- Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is a flagship crop insurance scheme launched by the Government of India on January 13, 2016. The primary objective of PMFBY is to provide financial support to farmers in case of crop failure due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases, ensuring their livelihood and encouraging them to adopt innovative agricultural practices.

[प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना (PMFBY) भारत सरकार द्वारा 13 जनवरी 2016 को शुरू की गई एक प्रमुख फसल बीमा योजना है। इस योजना का मुख्य उद्देश्य प्राकृतिक आपदाओं, कीटों और बीमारियों के कारण फसल के नुकसान की स्थिति में किसानों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करना है, जिससे उनकी आजीविका सुरक्षित रहे और वे कृषि में नए-नए तरीकों को अपनाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित हों।]

Key Features of PMFBY (प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना की प्रमुख विशेषताएं):-

i. Comprehensive Coverage (व्यापक कवरेज):-

> The scheme offers coverage for all food crops (cereals, millets, and pulses), oilseeds, and commercial / horticultural crops.

[यह योजना सभी खाद्य फसलों (अनाज, बाजरा, और दलहन), तिलहन और वाणिज्यिक/बागवानी फसलों के लिए कवरेज प्रदान करती है।]

> It covers pre-sowing to post-harvest losses, including localized risks like hailstorms, landslides, inundation, and natural fire.

(इसमें बुवाई से लेकर कटाई तक के नुकसान शामिल हैं, जैसे ओलावृष्टि, भूस्खलन, जलभराव और प्राकृतिक आग जैसी स्थानीयकृत जोखिम।)

> Non-preventable risks such as drought, floods, and pests are also covered.

(सूखा, बाढ़ और कीटों जैसे अप्रतिबंधित जोखिम भी शामिल हैं।)

ii. Low Premium Rates (कम प्रीमियम दरें):- Farmers are required to pay only a small share of the premium, while the government subsidizes the rest.
