Coffee rust/Oriental leaf disease (कॉफी रस्ट / ओरिएंटल पर्ण रोग):- Hemileia vastatrix

Severe epidemics in Srilanka in 1868.

(1868 में श्रीलंका में गंभीर महामारी।)

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

- The fungus confines itself to the leaf blade, rarely occurs on the berries.

(यह कवक केवल पर्ण फ़लक तक सीमित रहता है, और शायद ही कभी फलों पर हमला करता है।)

- Small, pale yellow spots develop on upper surface of the leaves usually around margins.

(पत्तियों की ऊपरी सतह पर छोटे, पीले धब्बे विकसित होते हैं, जो अक्सर किनारों के आसपास होते हैं।)

- Later masses of orange uredospores appear on the under surface.

(बाद में, पत्तियों की निचली सतह पर नारंगी रंग के यूरिडोबीजाणु प्रकट होते हैं।)

- The fungus sporulates through the stomata rather than breaking through the epidermis, so it does not form the pustules typical of many rusts.

(यह कवक रंध्रों के माध्यम से बीजाणुजनन करता है, न कि अधिचर्म को तोड़कर, इसलिए यह अन्य कई रस्ट रोगों की तरह फफोले नहीं बनाता।)
