Introduction (परिचय):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Scirtothrips dorsalis
Order (गण):- Thysanoptera
Family (कुल):- Thripidae

Distribution (वितरण):- Scirtothrips dorsalis is distributed widely across India and other tropical and subtropical regions. It is found in almost all chilli-growing areas, as well as on other crops in South and Southeast Asia, East Africa, and parts of the Americas.
(यह भारत और अन्य उष्णकटिबंधीय और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों में व्यापक रूप से पाया जाता है। यह लगभग सभी मिर्च उगाने वाले क्षेत्रों में पाया जाता है और दक्षिण तथा दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया, पूर्वी अफ्रीका और अमेरिका के कुछ हिस्सों में अन्य फसलों पर भी पाया जाता है।)

Identification (पहचान):-
Adults (वयस्क):- Small insects, typically around 1-2 mm in length. They are slender with fringed wings. The body is pale yellow to brown, and wings are narrow with fringed edges.
(ये छोटे कीट होते हैं, जिनकी लंबाई लगभग 1-2 मिमी होती है। इनका शरीर पतला होता है और पंखों पर किनारे पर छोटे-छोटे रोम होते हैं। शरीर का रंग पीला से लेकर भूरा होता है और पंख पतले तथा बालों से घिरे होते हैं।)
Larvae/Nymphs (लार्वा/निम्फ):- Pale yellow and wingless. They resemble the adults but are smaller and less mobile.
(ये पीले रंग के होते हैं और इनमें पंख नहीं होते। वयस्कों की तरह दिखते हैं लेकिन आकार में छोटे होते हैं और कम गतिशील होते हैं।)
Eggs (अंडे):- Tiny, microscopic, and embedded into plant tissues.
(ये बहुत छोटे होते हैं और इन्हें पौधों के ऊतकों के अंदर रखा जाता है।)
