Introduction (परिचय):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Ophiomyia phaseoli
Order (गण):- Diptera (डाइप्टेरा)
Family (कुल):- Agromyzidae (एग्रोमाइजिडी)

Distribution (वितरण):- The pea stem fly (Ophiomyia phaseoli) is widely distributed across several pea-growing regions in the world, including India. In India, it is found in northern states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, and also in some parts of the Deccan plateau.
(मटर तना मक्खी विश्व के विभिन्न मटर उत्पादक क्षेत्रों में पाई जाती है, जिसमें भारत भी शामिल है। भारत में यह मुख्यतः उत्तरी राज्यों जैसे पंजाब, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, और उत्तर प्रदेश में पाई जाती है, साथ ही कुछ हिस्सों में दक्कन के पठार में भी देखी गई है।

Identification (पहचान):-
Adults (वयस्क):- Small, shiny, black-colored flies, about 2-3 mm in length, with characteristic wings that have a darkish tinge.
(छोटी, चमकीली, काली मक्खियाँ, लगभग 2-3 मिमी लंबी, जिनके पंखों पर हल्का काला रंग होता है।)
Larvae (Maggots) [लार्वा (मैगट)]:- Creamy white, legless, cylindrical, tapering at one end. These maggots are usually about 3-4 mm long.
(क्रीमी सफेद, बिना पैरों के, बेलनाकार, एक छोर पर पतला। ये लार्वा लगभग 3-4 मिमी लंबे होते हैं।)
Pupae (प्यूपा):- Brown or reddish-brown, occurring inside the stems of host plants or in soil.
(भूरे या लाल-भूरे रंग के, जो पौधों के तनों के अंदर या मिट्टी में पाए जाते हैं।)
Eggs (अंडे):- Tiny, white, and oval, laid just beneath the epidermis of the host plant stem.
(छोटे, सफेद, अंडाकार अंडे, जो परपोषी पौधे के तने की ऊपरी परत के नीचे दिए जाते हैं।)
