Introduction (परिचय):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Odontotermes obesus
Order (गण):- Blattodea, previously classified under Isoptera.
(दीमक ब्लैटोडिया गण में आते हैं, जिन्हें पहले आइसोप्टेरा के अंतर्गत वर्गीकृत किया गया था।)
Family (कुल):- Termitidae (टर्मिटिडी)

Distribution (वितरण):- Termites are widely distributed across India and are found in various agro-climatic zones. They are prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions, including:
(दीमक पूरे भारत में व्यापक रूप से वितरित हैं और विभिन्न कृषि-जलवायु क्षेत्रों में पाए जाते हैं। ये उष्णकटिबंधीय और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों में विशेष रूप से प्रचलित हैं, जैसे:)
i. Northern plains of India (Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh)

ii. Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra)

Note (नोट):- Termites are particularly common in agricultural lands, forests, and urban areas.

Identification (पहचान):-
Workers (मजदूर):- Small, creamy-white or grayish individuals with soft bodies, responsible for foraging and building.
(छोटे, क्रीमी-सफेद या धूसर रंग के, नरम शरीर वाले, जो भोजन इकट्ठा करने और बस्ती बनाने का काम करते हैं।)
Soldiers (सैनिक):- Larger individuals with darker heads and powerful mandibles for defense.
(बड़े, गहरे सिर और शक्तिशाली जबड़े वाले जो बस्ती की रक्षा करते हैं।)
Reproductive caste (Alates) [जनन जाति (अलेट्स)]:- Winged individuals that swarm during the reproductive phase, generally darker in color, with two pairs of long wings of equal size.
(पंख वाले दीमक जो जनन काल में उड़ान भरते हैं, आमतौर पर गहरे रंग के होते हैं, और उनके पास दो जोड़ी समान आकार के लंबे पंख होते हैं।)
