Genus (वंश):- Holotrichia (होलोट्राइकिया)
Species (जातियाँ):- There are several species of whitegrubs in India, including Holotrichia consanguinea, Holotrichia serrata, Holotrichia rustica, and others.

Distribution (वितरण):- Whitegrubs are widely distributed across India, including states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat. They are more prevalent in areas with sandy soil and regions that receive moderate to heavy rainfall during the monsoon season.

Identification (पहचान):-
Adult (वयस्क):- Whitegrubs belong to a group of beetles commonly known as "scarab beetles." Adults are typically brown to dark brown and vary in size depending on the species. Adult beetles are nocturnal, and during the rainy season, they emerge in large numbers.
(व्हाइटग्रब एक भृंग समूह से संबन्धित होते हैं जिन्हें "स्कारब भृंग" के रूप में जाना जाता है। वयस्क भृंग भूरे से गहरे भूरे रंग के होते हैं और इनके आकार में भिन्नता होती है। वयस्क भृंग रात्रिचर होते हैं और मानसून के मौसम में बड़ी संख्या में निकलते हैं।)
Larvae (Grubs) [लार्वा (ग्रब)]:- The larvae, or "whitegrubs," are C-shaped, creamy white, with a brown head and three pairs of legs. They can grow up to 2.5 cm in length. The body appears soft, and they curl into a C-shape when disturbed.
(लार्वा जिसे व्हाइटग्रब कहा जाता है, C-आकार के होते हैं, क्रीम रंग के साथ भूरे सिर और तीन जोड़े पैरों वाले होते हैं। इनकी लंबाई 2.5 सेमी तक हो सकती है। शरीर कोमल होता है और ये परेशान होने पर C-आकार में मुड़ जाते हैं।)
