Aquatic weeds and their management (जलीय खरपतवार और उनका प्रबंधन):- Aquatic weeds are plants that grow in water bodies, either partially or fully submerged, and they can create significant challenges for water resource management in India. They disrupt the ecosystem, reduce water quality, hinder water flow, and impact agriculture, fisheries, and biodiversity. In India, aquatic weeds proliferate due to a combination of factors such as nutrient loading, slow-moving water, and favorable climatic conditions.

Types of Aquatic Weeds (जलीय खरपतवार के प्रकार):- Aquatic weeds are classified based on their habitat or the part of the water body they occupy:

(जलीय खरपतवारों को उनके निवास स्थान या जिस हिस्से में वे जलाशयों में उगते हैं, उसके आधार पर वर्गीकृत किया जाता है:)

i. Submerged Weeds (डूबे हुए खरपतवार):- These are completely underwater, rooted to the bottom. Examples include:

(ये पूरी तरह पानी के नीचे होते हैं और तली में जड़ें होती हैं। उदाहरण:)

- Hydrilla verticillata (Hydrilla)

- Vallisneria spiralis (Eelgrass)

- Potamogeton spp. (Pondweed)

ii. Floating Weeds (तैरते हुए खरपतवार):-
