Characteristics of weeds (खरपतवारों की विशेषताएँ):- Weeds are plants that grow where they are not wanted, often competing with cultivated plants for resources like sunlight, water, and nutrients. 
(खरपतवार ऐसे पौधे हैं जो वहाँ उगते हैं जहाँ उनकी आवश्यकता नहीं होती है, वे अक्सर सूर्य के प्रकाश, पानी और पोषक तत्वों जैसे संसाधनों के लिए फसली पौधों के साथ प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हैं।)
i. Aggressive Growth (आक्रामक वृद्धि):-
Rapid Germination and Establishment (तीव्र अंकुरण और स्थापना):- Weeds often have seeds that germinate quickly, allowing them to establish themselves before other plants can take root.
(खरपतवारों के बीज अक्सर जल्दी अंकुरित हो जाते हैं, जिससे वे अन्य पौधों के जड़ पकड़ने से पहले ही अपना स्थान बना लेते हैं।)
Fast Growth Rates (तीव्र वृद्धि दर):- They can grow faster than many cultivated plants, which enables them to outcompete crops for light, water, and nutrients.
(इनकी वृद्धि दर कई फ़सली पौधों से तीव्र होती है, जो उन्हें प्रकाश, पानी, और पोषक तत्वों के लिए फसलों से प्रतिस्पर्धा में आगे बढ़ने में मदद करता है।)
Vegetative Reproduction (कायिक जनन):- Many weeds reproduce through runners, rhizomes, tubers, or other vegetative means, allowing a single plant to spread over a wide area without needing seeds.

Large Number of Seeds (अधिक संख्या में बीज):- A single weed plant can produce thousands or even millions of seeds. This high seed production ensures that even if some seeds do not survive, enough will thrive to continue the species.
(एक अकेला खरपतवार पौधा हजारों या लाखों बीज उत्पन्न कर सकता है। यह अधिक बीज उत्पादन सुनिश्चित करता है कि भले ही कुछ बीज जीवित न रहें, फिर भी पर्याप्त संख्या में पौधे आगे बढ़ते रहें।)
Small Seed Size (छोटा बीज आकार):- Weeds often produce small seeds that are easily dispersed by wind, water, animals, or human activities, allowing them to spread over large areas.

Seed Longevity (बीज की लंबी आयु):- Weed seeds can remain viable in the soil for many years (sometimes decades), creating a persistent seed bank that makes it difficult to eliminate them entirely.
