Classification of weeds (खरपतवारों का वर्गीकरण):- Weeds can be classified broadly based on various criteria such as their lifecycle, habitat, morphology, and mode of dispersal. 

(खरपतवारों को विभिन्न मापदंडों के आधार पर व्यापक रूप से वर्गीकृत किया जा सकता है, जैसे उनका जीवनचक्र, आवास, आकारिकी, और फैलाव की विधि।)

a. Classification Based upon Life cycle (जीवनचक्र के आधार पर वर्गीकरण):-

i. Annual Weeds (वार्षिक खरपतवार):- Complete their life cycle (germination to seed production) in a single season or year.

[अपना जीवनचक्र (अंकुरण से लेकर बीज उत्पादन तक) एक ही मौसम या वर्ष में पूरा करते हैं।]

Examples (उदाहरण):- Chenopodium album (Bathua) (बथुआ), Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard grass) (सांवा घास).

ii. Biennial Weeds (द्विवार्षिक खरपतवार):- Require two years to complete their life cycle. In the first year, they grow vegetatively, and in the second year, they produce flowers and seeds.

(अपने जीवनचक्र को पूरा करने के लिए दो वर्ष लेते हैं। पहले वर्ष में वे कायिक रूप से बढ़ते हैं, और दूसरे वर्ष में पुष्प और बीज उत्पन्न करते हैं।)

Examples (उदाहरण):- Daucus carota (Wild carrot) (जंगली गाजर), Cirsium vulgare (Bull thistle) (बुल थीस्ल).

iii. Perennial Weeds (बहुवर्षीय खरपतवार):-
