Biomass (बायोमास):-
Definition (परिभाषा):- Biomass refers to organic materials derived from plants, animals, and microorganisms. It includes agricultural residues, forestry waste, animal manure, and organic municipal waste.
(बायोमास का मतलब जैविक पदार्थों से है जो पौधों, जानवरों और सूक्ष्मजीवों से प्राप्त होते हैं। इसमें कृषि अवशेष, वन अपशिष्ट, पशु खाद, और जैविक नगरपालिका अपशिष्ट शामिल हैं।)
Types of Biomass (बायोमास के प्रकार):-
i. Lignocellulosic Biomass (लिग्नोसेलुलोसिक बायोमास):- Comprises agricultural waste like straw, husks, and bagasse.
(इसमें कृषि अपशिष्ट जैसे भूसे, धान के छिलके, और बगास (गन्ने के अवशेष) शामिल हैं।)
ii. Algal Biomass (शैवाल बायोमास):- Algae, including microalgae and macroalgae, can be grown in water and produce oils suitable for biodiesel.
(शैवाल, जिसमें सूक्ष्म शैवाल और बड़े शैवाल शामिल हैं, को पानी में उगाया जा सकता है और इनसे बायोडीजल के लिए तेल प्राप्त किया जा सकता है।)
iii. Animal Waste (पशु अपशिष्ट):- Manure from livestock that can be processed into biogas.
(पशुओं की खाद जो बायोगैस में परिवर्तित की जा सकती है।)
iv. Municipal Solid Waste (नगरपालिका ठोस अपशिष्ट) (MSW):- Organic fraction of city waste that can be converted to biogas and biofuels.
(शहर के कचरे का जैविक हिस्सा जो बायोगैस और बायोफ्यूल में परिवर्तित किया जा सकता है।)

Biofuels and Their Types (बायोफ्यूल और उनके प्रकार):- Biofuels are renewable fuels produced from biomass. They are generally classified into different generations based on the feedstock and production technologies:
