Fate of herbicides (शाकनाशियों का भविष्य):- Herbicides are chemicals used to control or eliminate unwanted plants (weeds). The fate of herbicides in the environment is determined by several processes that affect how they behave, degrade, and disperse after application. These processes can include adsorption, degradation, leaching, volatilization, runoff, and uptake by plants.

i. Adsorption (अवशोषण):-

Definition (परिभाषा):- This is the process by which herbicide molecules attach to soil particles.

(यह वह प्रक्रिया है जिसमें शाकनाशी के अणु मृदा के कणों से चिपक जाते हैं।)

Factors (कारक):- Adsorption is influenced by the chemical properties of the herbicide, soil type, organic matter content, and soil pH. Herbicides with high affinity for soil particles are less likely to move through the soil.

(अवशोषण शाकनाशी के रासायनिक गुणों, मिट्टी के प्रकार, कार्बनिक पदार्थ की मात्रा और मिट्टी के pH पर निर्भर करता है। जिन शाकनाशियों की मिट्टी के कणों से चिपकने की क्षमता अधिक होती है, वे मिट्टी के माध्यम से कम गति से आगे बढ़ते हैं।)
