Methods of Fertilizer Application (उर्वरक अनुप्रयोग की विधियाँ):-
> Nutrients cannot be fully utilised by plant roots as they move laterally over long distances. 
(पोषक तत्वों का उपयोग पौधों की जड़ों द्वारा पूरी तरह से नहीं किया जा सकता क्योंकि वे लंबी दूरी तक पार्श्विक रूप से चलती हैं।)
> The weed growth is stimulated all over the field. 
(पूरे खेत में खरपतवार की वृद्धि को बढ़ावा मिलता है।)
> Nutrients are fixed in the soil as they come in contact with a large mass of soil.
(पोषक तत्व मिट्टी में स्थिर हो जाते हैं क्योंकि वे मिट्टी के बड़े द्रव्यमान के संपर्क में आते हैं।)

Application of Solid Fertilizers (ठोस उर्वरकों का अनुप्रयोग):- 
1. Broadcasting (छिड़काव):-
- It refers to spreading fertilizers uniformly all over the field. 
(इसका तात्पर्य उर्वरकों को पूरे खेत में समान रूप से फैलाने से है।)
- Suitable for crops with dense stand, the plant roots permeate the whole volume of the soil, large doses of fertilizers are applied and insoluble phosphatic fertilizers such as rock phosphate are used. 
(सघन खड़ी फसलों के लिए उपयुक्त, पौधों की जड़ें मिट्टी की पूरी मात्रा में व्याप्त होती हैं, उर्वरकों की बड़ी खुराक दी जाती है और रॉक फॉस्फेट जैसे अघुलनशील फॉस्फेटिक उर्वरकों का उपयोग किया जाता है।)
a. Broadcasting at sowing or planting / Basal application (बुआई या रोपण पर छिड़काव या बेसल अनुप्रयोग):- The main objectives of broadcasting the fertilizers at sowing time are to uniformly distribute the fertilizer over the entire field and to mix it with soil. 
(बुआई के समय उर्वरकों का छिड़काव करने का मुख्य उद्देश्य उर्वरक को पूरे खेत में समान रूप से वितरित करना और मिट्टी में मिलाना है।)
b. Top dressing (टॉप ड्रैसिंग):- It is the broadcasting of fertilizers particularly nitrogenous fertilizers in closely sown crops like paddy and wheat, with the objective of supplying nitrogen in readily available form to growing plants. 
(यह वृद्धि करते पौधों को आसानी से उपलब्ध रूप में नाइट्रोजन की आपूर्ति करने के उद्देश्य से, धान और गेहूं जैसी निकट बोई गई फसलों में उर्वरकों, विशेष रूप से नाइट्रोजन युक्त उर्वरकों का छिड़काव है।)
