Herbicide classification (शाकनाशी वर्गीकरण):- Herbicides are chemicals used to control unwanted plants, such as weeds, by inhibiting their growth or killing them. In India, herbicides are classified based on various criteria, including their mode of action, chemical structure, selectivity, time of application, and persistence in the environment. 
(भारत में शाकनाशियों का उपयोग अवांछित पौधों, जैसे कि खरपतवारों को नियंत्रित करने के लिए किया जाता है। इनका कार्य पौधों की वृद्धि को रोकना या उन्हें समाप्त करना होता है। भारत में शाकनाशियों का वर्गीकरण कई मानदंडों के आधार पर किया जाता है, जिसमें उनका कार्य करने की विधि, रासायनिक संरचना, चयनात्मकता, उपयोग का समय, और पर्यावरण में उनकी स्थायित्व शामिल हैं।)
Classification Based upon Mode of Action (क्रिया विधि के आधार पर वर्गीकरण):-
i. Photosynthesis Inhibitors (प्रकाश संश्लेषण अवरोधक):- These herbicides inhibit photosynthesis in plants, leading to energy deficiency and eventually death.
(ये शाकनाशी पौधों में प्रकाश संश्लेषण को रोकते हैं, जिससे ऊर्जा की कमी हो जाती है और अंततः पौधे की मृत्यु हो जाती है।)
Examples (उदाहरण):- Atrazine, Simazine, Diuron.
ii. Growth Regulators (वृद्धि नियामक):- These mimic plant hormones (like auxins), disrupting normal growth patterns and leading to deformities and death in targeted plants.
[ये पादप हार्मोन (जैसे ऑक्सिन) की नकल करते हैं, जिससे पौधों की सामान्य वृद्धि प्रभावित होती है और वे मर जाते हैं।]
Examples (उदाहरण):- 2,4-D, MCPA.
iii. Amino Acid Synthesis Inhibitors (अमीनो अम्ल संश्लेषण अवरोधक):- These inhibit the synthesis of essential amino acids, leading to plant growth suppression.
(ये आवश्यक अमीनो अम्ल के निर्माण को रोकते हैं, जिससे पौधों की वृद्धि रुक जाती है।)
Examples (उदाहरण):- Glyphosate, Imazapyr.
iv. Cell Membrane Disruptors (कोशिका झिल्ली विघटनकर्ता):- These herbicides cause the breakdown of cell membranes, leading to leakage of cell contents and plant death.
(ये शाकनाशी कोशिका झिल्ली को तोड़ते हैं, जिससे कोशिका का सामग्री बाहर निकल जाता है और पौधे की मृत्यु हो जाती है।)
Examples (उदाहरण):- Paraquat, Diquat.
v. Lipid Synthesis Inhibitors (लिपिड संश्लेषण अवरोधक):- They prevent the synthesis of lipids, essential for cell membrane integrity.
(ये लिपिड्स के निर्माण को रोकते हैं, जो कोशिका झिल्ली की अखंडता के लिए आवश्यक होते हैं।)
Examples (उदाहरण):- Fluazifop, Haloxyfop.
