Origin and history including a brief introduction to UPOV for protection of plant varieties (पादप किस्मों के संरक्षण के लिए UPOV का संक्षिप्त परिचय सहित उत्पत्ति और इतिहास):- The International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) is an intergovernmental organization that plays a key role in the protection of plant varieties, encouraging the development of new plant varieties by granting intellectual property rights. 

:- पौधों की नई किस्मों के संरक्षण के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संघ (यूपीओवी) एक अंतर सरकारी संगठन है जो पौधों की किस्मों के संरक्षण में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है, विकास को प्रोत्साहित करता है। बौद्धिक संपदा अधिकार प्रदान करके पौधों की नई किस्में।

Origin and History of UPOV (UPOV की उत्पत्ति और इतिहास):-

Founding and Purpose (स्थापना और उद्देश्य) (1961):- 

> UPOV was established by the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants in 1961, often referred to as the UPOV Convention. The primary objective was to provide a framework for protecting new plant varieties through intellectual property rights, similar to patents but tailored for plant breeders.

> The convention aimed to encourage the development of new plant varieties by providing breeders with exclusive rights to commercialize their varieties, thus fostering innovation in agriculture and horticulture.
