Introduction (परिचय):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Quadraspidiotus perniciosus
Order (गण):- Hemiptera (हेमिप्टेरा)
Family (कुल):- Diaspididae (डायस्पिडिडी)

Distribution (वितरण):- 
> The San Jose scale is a highly invasive pest, originally from China, but now distributed worldwide, particularly in apple-growing regions. 
(यह एक अत्यधिक आक्रामक कीट है, जो मूल रूप से चीन से है, लेकिन अब यह दुनिया भर में फैल गया है, विशेष रूप से सेब उगाने वाले क्षेत्रों में।)
> In India, it is found in: Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (hill regions), Uttarakhand and Parts of the North Eastern regions.

Identification (पहचान):-
Adult Female (वयस्क मादा):- Round, flat, and grayish-black with a diameter of about 1.5–2.0 mm. The center of the scale is darker, with a raised bump. It has no wings or legs.
(गोल, चपटी और धूसर-काली, जिसका व्यास लगभग 1.5–2.0 मिमी होता है। स्केल का केंद्र गहरा और थोड़ा उठा हुआ होता है। इसमें पंख या पैर नहीं होते।)
Adult Male (वयस्क नर):- Smaller than the female, winged, with a yellowish body.
(मादा से छोटा, पंखों वाला और पीले रंग का होता है।)
Nymphs (Crawlers) [निम्फ (क्रॉलर)]:- Tiny, yellow, and mobile in the early stages, before settling on the plant to become immobile scales.
(छोटे, पीले रंग के और प्रारंभिक अवस्था में चलायमान होते हैं, फिर पौधे की सतह पर बसकर स्थिर हो जाते हैं।)
