Distribution (वितरण):- 
> The fruit flies are distributed throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world, with Bactrocera dorsalis being one of the most widespread species in Asia.

Identification (पहचान):-
Adult Fly (वयस्क मक्खी):- The fruit fly is small, measuring around 6-8 mm in length. It has a yellowish-brown body with distinctive dark markings. The wings are clear with brown spots, and the abdomen is generally darker with yellow stripes.
(फल मक्खी छोटी होती है, इसकी लंबाई लगभग 6-8 मिमी होती है। इसका शरीर पीले-भूरे रंग का होता है, जिस पर काले निशान होते हैं। पंख पारदर्शी होते हैं जिन पर भूरे धब्बे होते हैं, और पेट आमतौर पर गहरे रंग का होता है जिस पर पीली धारियाँ होती हैं।)
Eggs (अंडे):- White, elongated, and laid under the skin of the fruit.
(सफेद, लम्बी आकृति के होते हैं और फल की त्वचा के नीचे दिए जाते हैं।)
Larva (Maggot) [लार्वा (मैगट)]:- The larva is legless, creamy white, and cylindrical. They are the damaging stage, feeding inside the fruit flesh.
(लार्वा पैर रहित, क्रीमी सफेद रंग का और बेलनाकार होता है। यह फसल को नुकसान पहुँचाने वाली अवस्था होती है, जिसमें लार्वा फल के गूदे में भोजन करता है।)
Pupa (प्यूपा):- Puparium is brown and barrel-shaped, formed in the soil near the base of the plant.
(प्यूपेरियम भूरे रंग का और ढोलक के आकार का होता है, जो पौधे के आधार के पास मिट्टी में बनता है।)
