Introduction (परिचय):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Acarus siro
Order (गण):- Sarcoptiformes (सार्कोप्टीफोर्मीज)
Family (कुल):- Acaridae (अकेरिडी)

Distribution (वितरण):- The grain mite is found worldwide, including in India. It thrives in warm and humid environments, making it a common pest in tropical and subtropical regions. Its presence in India is due to favorable climatic conditions in many parts of the country, especially in poorly ventilated storage facilities.
(अनाज माइट विश्व भर में पाई जाती है, जिसमें भारत भी शामिल है। यह गर्म और आर्द्र वातावरण में पनपती है, जिससे यह उष्णकटिबंधीय और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों में आम कीट बन जाती है। भारत में इसकी उपस्थिति मुख्य रूप से देश के कई हिस्सों में अनुकूल जलवायु परिस्थितियों के कारण होती है, विशेष रूप से उन भंडारण स्थलों में जहाँ वेंटिलेशन कम होता है।)

> Adult grain mites are tiny, measuring about 0.3-0.5 mm in length.
(वयस्क अनाज की मकड़ियाँ बहुत छोटी होती हैं, जिनकी लंबाई लगभग 0.3-0.5 मिमी होती है।)
> Their bodies are oval-shaped, with a creamy-white color and pale legs.
(इनके शरीर अंडाकार होते हैं, जिनका रंग क्रीमी-सफेद होता है और पैर हल्के रंग के होते हैं।)
> Under a microscope, they have long setae (hair-like structures) on their bodies.
