Introduction (वितरण):-
Scientific Name (वैज्ञानिक नाम):- Tribolium castaneum
Order (गण):- Coleoptera (कोलीऑप्टेरा)
Family (कुल):- Tenebrionidae (टेनेब्रियोनिडी)
Distribution (वितरण):-
> Found worldwide, including tropical and subtropical regions.
(यह पूरे विश्व में पाया जाता है, विशेषकर उष्णकटिबंधीय और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय क्षेत्रों में।)
> In India, it is widespread due to favorable climate conditions for its development.

Identification (पहचान):-
Adult (वयस्क):-
> Reddish-brown, elongated, flat beetles, about 3-4 mm in length.
(लाल-भूरे रंग के, लंबे और चपटे बीटल, जिनकी लंबाई लगभग 3-4 मिमी होती है।)
> Smooth, shiny elytra (wing covers) with no distinctive markings.
(चिकनी और चमकीली पंख ढालियाँ होती हैं जिन पर कोई विशेष चिह्न नहीं होते।)
> Antennae gradually thicken toward the tip.
(एंटीना का सिरा मोटा होता है।)
Larvae (लार्वा):-
> Slender, cream-colored, and about 4-5 mm long.
(पतले, क्रीम रंग के, और लगभग 4-5 मिमी लंबे होते हैं।)
> Possess a yellowish-brown head and a pair of terminal projections (uropods).
(इनके सिर का रंग पीला-भूरा होता है और पीछे की ओर दो छोटी प्रक्षिप्तियाँ होती हैं।)
Eggs (अंडे):- Minute, whitish, and sticky, laid singly or in small clusters.
(छोटे, सफेद, और चिपचिपे होते हैं, जो एकल या छोटे समूह में दिए जाते हैं।)
Pupa (प्यूपा):- White initially and turns pale yellow as it matures, found in the grain mass.
