Social Control (सामाजिक नियंत्रण):-
Meaning (अर्थ):-
> The term, ‘social control’, is widely used in sociology to refer to the social processes by which the behaviour of individuals or groups is regulated. 
('सामाजिक नियंत्रण' शब्द का प्रयोग समाजशास्त्र में व्यापक रूप से उन सामाजिक प्रक्रियाओं को संदर्भित करने के लिए किया जाता है जिनके द्वारा व्यक्तियों या समूहों के व्यवहार को नियंत्रित किया जाता है।)
> Since all societies have norms and values governing conduct (a society without some such norms and values is inconceivable), all equally have some mechanisms for ensuring conformity to those norms and for dealing with deviance. 
[चूँकि सभी समाजों में आचरण को नियंत्रित करने वाले मानदंड और मूल्य होते हैं (ऐसे कुछ मानदंडों और मूल्यों के बिना एक समाज की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती है), सभी के पास समान रूप से उन मानदंडों के अनुरूप सुनिश्चित करने और विचलन से निपटने के लिए कुछ तंत्र होते हैं।]
> Social control is consequently a pervasive feature of society, of interest to a broad range of sociologists having differing theoretical persuasions and substantive interests, and not just to sociologists of deviance.
(परिणामस्वरूप, सामाजिक नियंत्रण समाज की एक व्यापक विशेषता है, जो अलग-अलग सैद्धांतिक धारणाओं और वास्तविक हितों वाले समाजशास्त्रियों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला के लिए रुचिकर है, न कि केवल विचलन के समाजशास्त्रियों के लिए।)

Definitions (परिभाषाएँ):-
i. Morirs Janowitz:- “Social control focuses on the capacity of a social organisation to regulate itself.”
("सामाजिक नियंत्रण एक सामाजिक संगठन की खुद को विनियमित करने की क्षमता पर केंद्रित है।")
 > According to him , this concept of self - regulation can be applied to the actions of individuals and organizational units. 
(उनके अनुसार, स्व-नियमन की इस अवधारणा को व्यक्तियों और संगठनात्मक इकाइयों के कार्यों पर लागू किया जा सकता है।)
