Social Groups (सामाजिक समूह):-
Meaning (अर्थ):-
> Social structure is composed of groups. 
(सामाजिक संरचना समूहों से बनी होती है।)
> Organizations, institutions, community etc, are the forms of human associations. 
(संगठन, संस्थाएँ, समुदाय आदि मानव संघों के ही रूप होते हैं।)
> Society functions through different forms of human beings to fulfil needs and purposes. 
(आवश्यकताओं और उद्देश्यों को पूरा करने के लिए समाज मनुष्यों के विभिन्न रूपों के माध्यम से कार्य करता है।)
> Man functions in society through different forms of groups. 
(मनुष्य समाज में विभिन्न प्रकार के समूहों के माध्यम से कार्य करता है।)
> Man is born is a social group and his first association is with his mother. 
(मनुष्य का जन्म एक सामाजिक समूह के रूप में होता है और उसका पहला जुड़ाव अपनी माँ से होता है।)
> He associates with groups in some way or other. Individual nowhere lives in isolation. This tendency to unite in groups is one of the important characteristics of human beings. 
(वह किसी न किसी तरह से समूहों से जुड़ता है। व्यक्ति कहीं भी अलगाव में नहीं रहता। समूहों में एकजुट होने की यह प्रवृत्ति मनुष्य की महत्वपूर्ण विशेषताओं में से एक है।)
> Social groups are the units out of which society is constructed. 
(सामाजिक समूह वे इकाइयाँ हैं जिनसे समाज का निर्माण होता है।)
> Study of group is of primary important in the study of society and also important as a part of the total structure of society. 
(समाज के अध्ययन में समूह का अध्ययन प्राथमिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण है और समाज की समग्र संरचना के एक भाग के रूप में भी महत्वपूर्ण है।)
> Group is a medium through which we learn culture. The process of socialization takes place in groups.
(समूह एक माध्यम है जिसके माध्यम से हम संस्कृति सीखते हैं। समाजीकरण की प्रक्रिया समूहों में होती है।)
Definition (परिभाषा):-
> According to Chitambar a social group is a unit of two or more people in reciprocal (to and fro) interaction and in communication with each other.
(चितंबर के अनुसार एक सामाजिक समूह दो या दो से अधिक लोगों की एक इकाई है जो पारस्परिक (इधर-उधर) संपर्क और एक-दूसरे के साथ संचार करते हैं।)
> Maclever defined social group as a collection of human beings who enter into distinctive social relationships with one another.
(मैकलेवर ने सामाजिक समूह को मनुष्यों के एक समूह के रूप में परिभाषित किया है जो एक दूसरे के साथ विशिष्ट सामाजिक संबंधों में प्रवेश करते हैं।)
