Meaning (अर्थ):-

> Strata; the plural of stratum means layers of rock, or sometimes soil.

(स्ट्रेटा; स्ट्रेटम के बहुवचन का अर्थ है चट्टान की परतें, या कभी-कभी मिट्टी।)

> In geology the different layers found in rock, called stratification. The rocks with different layers of colour that look like someone poured slightly different-coloured layers on top of one another. Each layer is different from the other one.

(भूविज्ञान में चट्टान में पाई जाने वाली विभिन्न परतों को स्तरीकरण कहा जाता है। रंगों की अलग-अलग परतों वाली चट्टानें ऐसी दिखती हैं जैसे किसी ने एक-दूसरे के ऊपर थोड़ी अलग-अलग रंग की परतें डाल दी हों। प्रत्येक परत दूसरे से भिन्न होती है।)
