Sociology (समाजशास्त्र):-
> The term sociology was coined by Auguste Comte (1789-1875) who is often referred as the father of sociology.
[समाजशास्त्र शब्द का प्रयोग ऑगस्टे कॉम्टे (1789-1875) द्वारा किया गया था, जिन्हें अक्सर समाजशास्त्र का जनक कहा जाता है।]
> Term sociology is derived from two words:
(समाजशास्त्र शब्द दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है:)
i. One is Latin word ‘socius’ meaning companion.
(एक लैटिन शब्द है 'सोशियस' जिसका अर्थ है साथी।)
ii. Second is Greek word ‘logos’ meaning speech or reasoning.
(दूसरा ग्रीक शब्द है 'लोगोस' जिसका अर्थ है भाषण या तर्क।)
> Definition (परिभाषा):- Sociology has been referred to as systematized knowledge in the study of human social relationships.
(मानव सामाजिक संबंधों के अध्ययन में समाजशास्त्र को व्यवस्थित ज्ञान कहा गया है।)

Rural sociology (ग्रामीण समाजशास्त्र):- 
> Rural sociology is a branch of sociology. It is made up of two terms rural and sociology that is science of rural society. 
(ग्रामीण समाजशास्त्र, समाजशास्त्र की एक शाखा है। यह दो शब्दों ग्रामीण और समाजशास्त्र से मिलकर बना है जो ग्रामीण समाज का विज्ञान है।)
> Definition (परिभाषा):- It is the study of the sociology of life in the rural environment, which systematically studies the rural communities to discover their conditions and tendencies and formulate the principles of progress as the term implies.
(यह ग्रामीण परिवेश में जीवन के समाजशास्त्र का अध्ययन है, जो ग्रामीण समुदायों का व्यवस्थित रूप से अध्ययन करके उनकी स्थितियों और प्रवृत्तियों की खोज करता है और प्रगति के सिद्धांतों को तैयार करता है, जैसा कि शब्द से पता चलता है।)
