Stock-scion relationship (स्टॉक-सियन संबंध):- The term "scion" is rooted in botany, where it refers to a young shoot or twig of a plant, particularly one that is used for grafting onto the stock of another plant. When we talk about the "stock-scion relationship," it refers to this grafting process, where two different plant parts are joined to grow as a single plant. 
("सियन" शब्द का संबंध वनस्पति विज्ञान से है, जहाँ इसका अर्थ किसी पौधे की एक नई कोपल या टहनी से होता है, विशेषकर जो किसी दूसरे पौधे के स्टॉक पर ग्राफ्टिंग के लिए उपयोग की जाती है। जब हम "स्टॉक-सियन संबंध" के बारे में बात करते हैं, तो यह उस ग्राफ्टिंग प्रक्रिया को दर्शाता है जिसमें दो विभिन्न पौधों के हिस्सों को एकसाथ जोड़कर एक पौधा बनाया जाता है।)

Grafting Process (ग्राफ्टिंग प्रक्रिया):- 
> In grafting, the "scion" (a shoot or bud of a plant with desired characteristics) is carefully joined to the "stock" (the root system of another plant, which may be more robust or resistant to certain diseases).
[ग्राफ्टिंग में, "सियन" (एक ऐसा अंकुर या कली जिसमें वांछित गुण होते हैं) को "स्टॉक" (दूसरे पौधे का जड़ प्रणाली, जो अधिक मज़बूत या बीमारियों के प्रति प्रतिरोधी हो सकती है) से जोड़ा जाता है।]
> Once grafted, the scion will continue to grow using the stock’s root system, absorbing water, nutrients, and anchorage from the soil.
(एक बार ग्राफ्ट होने के बाद, सियन स्टॉक की जड़ प्रणाली का उपयोग करके बढ़ता रहता है और मिट्टी से पानी, पोषक तत्वों और सहारा प्राप्त करता है।)

Compatibility (अनुकूलता):-
> For a successful graft, the stock and scion must be compatible. This typically means they belong to the same species or closely related species.
(सफल ग्राफ्ट के लिए, स्टॉक और सियन का अनुकूल होना जरूरी है। इसका सामान्यतः मतलब होता है कि वे एक ही प्रजाति या करीबी प्रजातियों से संबंध रखते हों।)
> Compatibility ensures that vascular tissues align, enabling nutrient and water flow from the roots (stock) to the scion.
