Storage structures and methods of grain storage (भंडारण संरचनाएं और अनाज भंडारण की विधियाँ):- In India, grain storage is a critical aspect of the agricultural sector, as the country produces a wide variety of cereals, pulses, and oilseeds. Efficient storage methods help in reducing post-harvest losses, preserving the quality of grains, and ensuring food security. 
(भारत में अनाज भंडारण कृषि क्षेत्र का एक महत्वपूर्ण पहलू है, क्योंकि देश विभिन्न प्रकार के अनाज, दलहन और तिलहन का उत्पादन करता है। कुशल भंडारण विधियाँ कटाई के बाद के नुकसान को कम करने, अनाज की गुणवत्ता बनाए रखने और खाद्य सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने में मदद करती हैं।)
Traditional Storage Structures (पारंपरिक भंडारण संरचनाएँ):-
i. Bamboo Bins (Kothis or Mud-bins) [बांस के बिन (कोठी या मिट्टी के बिन)]:- These are made using locally available materials like bamboo, mud, and straw. They are coated with a mixture of cow dung and mud for insulation and protection from pests. These bins are used by small and marginal farmers and are cost-effective but less efficient in terms of preventing moisture and pests.
( इन्हें स्थानीय रूप से उपलब्ध सामग्री जैसे बांस, मिट्टी और भूसे से बनाया जाता है। इन्हें गोबर और मिट्टी के मिश्रण से लेपित किया जाता है ताकि इन्सुलेशन और कीटों से सुरक्षा मिल सके। ये छोटे और सीमांत किसानों द्वारा उपयोग किए जाते हैं और कम लागत वाले होते हैं, लेकिन नमी और कीटों से बचाव के मामले में कम प्रभावी होते हैं।)
ii. Earthen Pots and Gourds (मिट्टी के बर्तन और लौकी):- In some regions, earthen pots or large dried gourds are used to store grains like millet and pulses. They are usually placed indoors to avoid moisture accumulation.
(कुछ क्षेत्रों में बाजरा और दालों को स्टोर करने के लिए मिट्टी के बर्तनों या सूखी लौकी का उपयोग किया जाता है। इन्हें आमतौर पर नमी जमा होने से बचाने के लिए घर के अंदर रखा जाता है।)
iii. Gunny Bags (Jute Bags) [गन्नी बैग (जूट बैग)]:- A widely used method, especially for transporting grains, gunny bags made from jute are permeable and allow for ventilation. However, they need to be stacked properly in storage facilities to prevent spoilage from pests, rodents, and moisture.
