Feasibility of different farming systems for different agro-climatic zones (विभिन्न कृषि-जलवायु क्षेत्रों के लिए विभिन्न कृषि प्रणालियों की व्यवहार्यता):- India’s diverse agro-climatic zones range from tropical and subtropical to arid, semi-arid, and temperate regions. This diversity creates distinct agricultural requirements, making it crucial to adapt farming systems to the specific climate, soil, and water conditions of each zone. 
(भारत के विविध कृषि-जलवायु क्षेत्र उष्णकटिबंधीय और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय से लेकर शुष्क, अर्ध-शुष्क और समशीतोष्ण क्षेत्रों तक फैले हुए हैं। इस विविधता के कारण प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में जलवायु, मिट्टी और जल स्थितियों के अनुसार कृषि प्रणालियाँ अपनाना अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है।)
i. Western Himalayan Region (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand) [पश्चिमी हिमालय क्षेत्र (जम्मू और कश्मीर, हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड)]:-
Climate (जलवायु):- Temperate to cold, with significant variation in altitude.
(समशीतोष्ण से ठंडी, ऊंचाई में काफी विविधता।)
Soil (मृदा):- Generally fertile but prone to erosion.
(सामान्यतः उपजाऊ, लेकिन कटाव के प्रति संवेदनशील।)
Suitable Crops / Farming Systems (उपयुक्त फसलें / कृषि प्रणालियाँ):-
Horticulture-Based Farming (बागवानी-आधारित खेती):- Apples, apricots, cherries, walnuts, and saffron (in Kashmir) are highly suitable.
[सेब, खुबानी, चेरी, अखरोट और केसर (कश्मीर में) उपयुक्त हैं।]
Agroforestry (कृषि वानिकी):- Suitable in hilly areas for soil conservation; also provides timber and fuelwood.
(पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में मृदा संरक्षण के लिए उपयुक्त; लकड़ी और ईंधन भी प्रदान करता है।)
Terrace Farming (सीढ़ीनुमा खेती):- Essential for preventing soil erosion; involves crops like rice, maize, wheat, and millets.

Livestock Integration (पशुधन का एकीकरण):- Yaks, sheep, and goats, combined with fodder crops.

Challenges (चुनौतियाँ):- Soil erosion, limited growing season, and landslides.
