Psychology and Educational psychology: Meaning, definition, scope, and importance of educational psychology in Agricultural Extension (मनोविज्ञान और शैक्षिक मनोविज्ञान: कृषि विस्तार में शैक्षिक मनोविज्ञान का अर्थ, परिभाषा, दायरा और महत्व):-
Psychology (मनोविज्ञान):-
> Father of Psychology is Sigmund Freud. 
(मनोविज्ञान के जनक सिगमंड फ्रायड हैं।)
> The term psychology was derived from Greek; 'psyche' meaning is soul and 'logus' means Science. Hence about 2500 years back it was referred to a 'science of soul'. 
(मनोविज्ञान शब्द ग्रीक भाषा से लिया गया है; 'साइके' का अर्थ है आत्मा और 'लोगोस' का अर्थ है विज्ञान। इसलिए लगभग 2500 वर्ष पहले इसे 'आत्मा का विज्ञान' कहा जाता था।)
> In olden days, it was believed that soul was responsible for various activities of man such as thinking, imagining, reasoning etc. 
(पुराने दिनों में यह माना जाता था कि आत्मा मनुष्य की विभिन्न गतिविधियों जैसे सोचना, कल्पना करना, तर्क करना आदि के लिए जिम्मेदार है।)
> In the Middle Ages psychology became a 'science of mind'. 
(मध्य युग में मनोविज्ञान 'मन का विज्ञान' बन गया।)
> Then after sometime, it became the 'science of conscience'. This definition was criticised from 'abnormal psychology' which brought the study of unconscious part of the mind. 
(फिर कुछ समय बाद यह 'विवेक का विज्ञान' बन गया। इस परिभाषा की आलोचना 'असामान्य मनोविज्ञान' से की गई जिसमें मन के अचेतन भाग का अध्ययन किया गया।)
> Then in 20th century psychology assumed scientific look and it became the 'science of mental behaviour'. 
(फिर 20वीं सदी में मनोविज्ञान ने वैज्ञानिक रूप धारण कर लिया और यह 'मानसिक व्यवहार का विज्ञान' बन गया।)
> By observing one's behaviour we can have knowledge of one's conscious and unconscious minds.
(किसी के व्यवहार को देखकर हम उसके चेतन और अचेतन मन का ज्ञान प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।)
 
Educational Psychology (शिक्षा मनोविज्ञान):-
> It is the branch of psychology that describes and explains the learning experiences of an individual and the progress in his educational development from birth to old age.
(यह मनोविज्ञान की वह शाखा है जो किसी व्यक्ति के सीखने के अनुभवों और जन्म से लेकर बुढ़ापे तक उसके शैक्षिक विकास में प्रगति का वर्णन और व्याख्या करती है।)
> It is the study of the psychological aspects of educational situation.
(यह शैक्षिक स्थिति के मनोवैज्ञानिक पहलुओं का अध्ययन है।)
