Organic ecosystem and their concepts

Organic ecosystem and their concepts (जैविक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र और इसके सिद्धांत):- An organic ecosystem refers to a self-sustaining system in which living organisms interact with each other and their environment in a natural, balanced way. These ecosystems function without artificial interference and maintain equilibrium through natural processes.
Key Concepts of Organic Ecosystems
i. Components of an Ecosystem (पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के घटक):- An ecosystem consists of biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) components.
Biotic Components (Living Organisms) [
Producers (Autotrophs) [उत्पादक (स्वपोषी)]:- Plants, algae, and some bacteria that produce their own food through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis.
Consumers (Heterotrophs) [उपभोक्ता (विषमपोषी)]:- Organisms that rely on others for food. These include:
Herbivores (Primary consumers) [शाकाहारी (प्राथमिक उपभोक्ता)]:- Eat plants (e.g., deer, rabbits).
Carnivores (Secondary and Tertiary consumers) [मांसाहारी (द्वितीयक और तृतीयक उपभोक्ता)]:- Eat other animals (e.g., lions, eagles).
Omnivores (सर्वाहारी):- Consume both plants and animals (e.g., humans, bears).
Decomposers (अपघटक):- Organisms like bacteria and fungi that break down dead material, recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem.
Abiotic Components (Non-Living Elements) [
> Air (Oxygen, Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen)
> Soil (Minerals, Organic matter)
> Climate (Temperature, Humidity)
ii. Energy Flow in an Ecosystem
> Energy flows through an ecosystem in a unidirectional manner.
> The sun is the primary energy source.
> Energy is transferred through trophic levels in a food chain or food web:
Producers → Primary Consumers → Secondary Consumers → Tertiary Consumers → Decomposers
> Only 10% of energy is transferred from one trophic level to the next (10% Rule).
iii. Nutrient Cycles (Biogeochemical Cycles) [पोषक चक्र (जैव-भू-रासायनिक चक्र)]:- Organic ecosystems rely on natural cycles to maintain balance:
Carbon Cycle (कार्बन चक्र):- Movement of carbon between the atmosphere, organisms, and soil.
Nitrogen Cycle (नाइट्रोजन चक्र):- Conversion of nitrogen into forms that plants can absorb.
Water Cycle (जल चक्र):- Continuous movement of water through evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and infiltration.
Phosphorus Cycle (फॉस्फोरस चक्र):- Circulation of phosphorus through rocks, soil, water, and organisms.
iv. Ecological Succession (पारिस्थितिकी अनुक्रमण):- The gradual process of change in an ecosystem over time.
Primary Succession (प्राथमिक अनुक्रमण):- Begins in lifeless areas (e.g., volcanic eruptions, glaciers).
Secondary Succession (द्वितीयक अनुक्रमण):- Occurs in areas where an ecosystem previously existed but was disturbed (e.g., after forest fires, floods).
v. Biodiversity and Interdependence (जैव विविधता और परस्पर निर्भरता):-
> A diverse ecosystem is more resilient and stable.
> Symbiotic relationships maintain balance.
Mutualism (पारस्परिकता):- Both species benefit (e.g., bees and flowers).
Commensalism (सहभोजिता):- One species benefits, the other is unaffected (e.g., barnacles on whales).
Parasitism (परजीवीता):- One species benefits at the expense of another (e.g., tapeworms in animals).
vi. Human Impact on Organic Ecosystems
Positive Impacts (सकारात्मक प्रभाव):- Conservation efforts, afforestation, sustainable agriculture.
Negative Impacts (नकारात्मक प्रभाव):- Deforestation, pollution, climate change, habitat destruction.
