Aromatic plants like lemongrass (लेमनग्रास जैसे सुगंधित पौधे):-

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) [लेमनग्रास (सिंबोपोगोन फ्लेक्सुओसस)]:-

i. Climatic Requirements (जलवायु आवश्यकताएँ):-

> Tropical to subtropical climate

(उष्णकटिबंधीय से उपोष्णकटिबंधीय जलवायु)

> Requires warm climate with moderate rainfall

(मध्यम वर्षा के साथ गर्म जलवायु की आवश्यकता होती है)

> Tolerates drought to some extent

(कुछ हद तक सूखे को सहन करता है)

Optimum temperature (इष्टतम तापमान):- 20–30°C

ii. Soil Requirements (मिट्टी की आवश्यकताएँ):-

> Grows on a variety of soils

(विभिन्न प्रकार की मिट्टी पर उगता है)

> Well-drained sandy loam preferred

(अच्छी जल निकासी वाली रेतीली दोमट मिट्टी पसंद की जाती है)

pH:- 5.5 to 7.5

iii. Varieties (किस्में):-

> OD-19 (Krishna), Cauvery, Pragati, Praman, Nima.

[OD-19 (कृष्णा), कावेरी, प्रगति, प्रमाण, नीमा।]

iv. Propagation (प्रवर्धन):-

> Vegetative propagation through slips (root divisions)

[स्लिप्स (जड़ विभाजन) के माध्यम से कायिक प्रवर्धन]

> Each slip should have 2–3 tillers

(प्रत्येक स्लिप में 2-3 टिलर होने चाहिए)

Planting time (रोपण का समय):- June–July (rainy season)

(जून-जुलाई (बरसात का मौसम))

v. Planting (रोपण):-

Spacing (अंतराल):- 60 cm × 45 cm or 60 cm × 60 cm

Slips required (आवश्यक स्लिप्स):- 30,000–40,000 per hectare (प्रति हेक्टेयर)

vi. Manures and Fertilizers (खाद और उर्वरक):-

FYM:- 15–20 t/ha before planting

(रोपण से पहले 15-20 टन/हेक्टेयर)

NPK:- 100:60:60 kg/ha

> Nitrogen in 3 split doses (30, 60, and 90 DAS)

[नाइट्रोजन 3 विभाजित खुराकों में (30, 60, और 90 DAS)]

vii. Irrigation (सिंचाई):-

> Needs irrigation during dry spells

(सूखे के दौरान सिंचाई की आवश्यकता होती है)

> 7–10 irrigations/year

(7-10 सिंचाई/वर्ष)

viii. Weed Management (खरपतवार प्रबंधन):-

> 2–3 manual weedings initially

(शुरुआत में 2-3 बार हाथ से निराई करें)

> Intercultivation helps control weeds

(अंतर-खेती खरपतवारों को नियंत्रित करने में मदद करती है)

ix. Harvesting (कटाई):-

First harvest (पहली कटाई):- 4–5 months after planting

(रोपण के 4-5 महीने बाद)

> Subsequent harvests at 2.5–3 months interval

(2.5-3 महीने के अंतराल पर अगली कटाई)

Best time to harvest (कटाई का सबसे अच्छा समय):- 

when plants begin flowering

(जब पौधे फूलने लगते हैं)

x. Yield (उपज):-

Herbage (जड़ी-बूटी):- 300–400 q/ha/year (3–4 cuts) (3-4 कटाई)

Oil yield (तेल की उपज):- 100–150 kg/ha/year
