Nematode pests of crops: Citrus and banana (फसलों के सूत्रकृमि कीट: नींबू और केला):-

Nematode Pests of Citrus (नींबू फलों के सूत्रकृमि कीट):-

i. Citrus Nematode – Tylenchulus semipenetrans (नींबू फल सूत्रकृमि - टाइलेनचुलस सेमीपेनेट्रांस):- Most important nematode of citrus worldwide.

(दुनिया भर में नींबू फलों का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण सूत्रकृमि।)

Feeding habit (भक्षण):- Semi-endoparasitic (female partially embedded in roots, males free-living).

[अर्ध-अंतर्परजीवी (मादा आंशिक रूप से जड़ों में अंतर्निहित, नर स्वतंत्र रूप से जीवित)।]

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Slow decline disease of citrus.

(नींबू फलों का धीमा क्षय रोग।)

> Reduced root system, presence of gelatinous egg masses.

(जड़ प्रणाली का कमजोर होना, जिलेटिनस अंडों का समूह।)

> Yellowing, leaf drop, twig die-back.

(पीलापन, पत्तियों का गिरना, टहनियों का मरना।)

> Fruits are small, poor quality.

(फल छोटे, खराब गुणवत्ता वाले होते हैं।)

> Yield losses up to 50%.

(उपज में 50% तक की हानि।)

Disease complexes (रोग समूह):- Enhances infection by Phytophthora spp. causing foot rot and root rot.

(फाइटोफ्थोरा प्रजाति द्वारा संक्रमण को बढ़ाता है जिससे पाद सड़ांध और जड़ सड़ांध होती है।)

ii. Root-knot Nematodes – Meloidogyne incognita, M. javanica (जड़-गाँठ सूत्रकृमि - मेलोइडोगाइन इन्कोग्निटा, एम. जावानिका):-

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Root galling, nutrient deficiency.

(जड़ गलना, पोषक तत्वों की कमी।)

> Stunted growth, chlorotic leaves.

(अवरुद्ध विकास, पत्तियाँ हरितहीन।)

Significance (महत्व):- Severe in nurseries and young orchards.

(नर्सरी और युवा बागों में गंभीर।)

iii. Other Nematodes in Citrus (खट्टे फलों में अन्य सूत्रकृमि):-

Lesion nematode (Pratylenchus penetrans) [घाव सूत्रकृमि (प्रैटिलेन्चस पेनेट्रांस)]:- Root lesions, secondary infections.

(जड़ घाव, द्वितीयक संक्रमण।)

Spiral nematode (Helicotylenchus spp.) [सर्पिल सूत्रकृमि (हेलिकोटिलेन्चस प्रजाति)]:- Weakening of plants.

(पौधों का कमजोर होना।)

Stunt nematode (Tylenchorhynchus spp.) [अवरुद्ध सूत्रकृमि (टाइलेन्चोरहिन्चस प्रजाति)]:- Stunting, chlorosis.

(बौनापन, हरितहीनता।)

Nematode Pests of Banana (केले के सूत्रकृमि कीट):-

i. Burrowing Nematode – Radopholus similis (बिल खोदने वाला सूत्रकृमि - रैडोफोलस सिमिलिस):- Most destructive nematode of banana.

(केले का सबसे विनाशकारी सूत्रकृमि।)

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Root burrowing → reddish-brown lesions on cortical tissues.

(जड़ में बिल खोदना → कॉर्टिकल ऊतकों पर लाल-भूरे रंग के घाव।)

> Severe root destruction → reduced anchorage → plant topples (banana toppling disease).

[जड़ों का गंभीर विनाश → कम आधार → पौधे का गिरना (केला गिरने का रोग)।]

> Premature yellowing, reduced bunch size and quality.

(समय से पहले पीला पड़ना, गुच्छों का आकार और गुणवत्ता कम होना।)

Yield loss (उपज हानि):- 20–80% depending on infestation.

(संक्रमण के आधार पर 20-80%।)

Disease complexes (रोग समूह):- Interacts with Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Panama wilt).

[फ्यूजेरियम ऑक्सीस्पोरम प्रजाति क्यूबेंस (पनामा विल्ट) के साथ परस्पर क्रिया करता है।]

ii. Root-knot Nematodes – Meloidogyne incognita, M. javanica (जड़-गाँठ सूत्रकृमि - मेलोइडोगाइन इन्कोग्निटा, M. जावानिका):-

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Root galling, stunted growth, poor fruiting.

(जड़ों का गलना, विकास अवरुद्ध होना, फलन कम होना।)

> Weak plants more prone to wilt and toppling.

(कमज़ोर पौधे मुरझाने और गिरने के लिए अधिक प्रवण होते हैं।)

> Common in nurseries and ratoon crops.

(नर्सरी और पेड़ी फसलों में आम।)

iii. Lesion Nematodes – Pratylenchus coffeae (घाव सूत्रकृमि - प्रेटिलेंचस कॉफ़ी):-

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Necrotic lesions on roots.

(जड़ों पर परिगलित घाव।)

> Poor root system → wilting in dry periods.

(कमज़ोर जड़ प्रणाली → शुष्क अवधि में मुरझाना।)

Significance (महत्व):- Widely distributed, causes 30–40% yield reduction.

(व्यापक रूप से वितरित, 30-40% उपज में कमी का कारण बनता है।)

iv. Spiral Nematodes – Helicotylenchus multicinctus (सर्पिल सूत्रकृमि - हेलिकोटिलेनचस मल्टीसिंक्टस):-

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Feeds externally on roots.

(जड़ों पर बाहरी रूप से फ़ीड करता है।)

> Weakening of plants, root rot predisposition.

(पौधों का कमज़ोर होना, जड़ सड़न की प्रवृत्ति।)

Importance (महत्व):- Often occurs in mixed populations with burrowing nematode.

(अक्सर बिल खोदने वाले सूत्रकृमि के साथ मिश्रित आबादी में पाया जाता है।)

v. Other Nematodes (अन्य सूत्रकृमि):-

Reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis) [रेनिफ़ॉर्म सूत्रकृमि (रोटिलेनचुलस रेनिफ़ॉर्मिस)]:- Weak growth, chlorosis.

(कमज़ोर वृद्धि, हरित हीनता।)

Sting nematode (Belonolaimus spp., in sandy soils) [स्टिंग सूत्रकृमि (बेलोनोलेमस प्रजाति, रेतीली मिट्टी में)]:- Root pruning, stunting.

(जड़ों की छंटाई, बौनापन।)
