Turmeric: leaf Spot (हल्दी: पत्ती धब्बा रोग):-

Causal organism (रोगकारक):- Taphrina maculans

Symptoms (लक्षण):-

> Leaves: Small, oval to rectangular yellow spots appear on both surfaces of the leaves.

(पत्तियाँ: पत्तियों की दोनों सतहों पर छोटे, अंडाकार से आयताकार पीले धब्बे बनते हैं।)

> The spots enlarge and become brown or reddish-brown with a yellow halo.

(धब्बे बड़े होकर भूरे या लाल-भूरे हो जाते हैं तथा उनके चारों ओर पीला घेरा दिखाई देता है।)

> Several spots merge to form large blighted areas.

(कई धब्बे मिलकर बड़े झुलसे हुए क्षेत्र बना देते हैं।)

> Severe infection causes premature drying of leaves, reducing rhizome development and yield.

(अधिक संक्रमण में पत्तियाँ समय से पहले सूख जाती हैं, जिससे प्रकंद का विकास एवं उपज कम हो जाती है।)

Favorable conditions (अनुकूल परिस्थितियाँ):-

> Temperature (तापमान): 25–30°C

> High humidity (>90%)

[सापेक्षिक आर्द्रता 90% से अधिक]

> Frequent rainfall and prolonged leaf wetness

(लगातार वर्षा एवं लंबे समय तक पत्तियों पर नमी)

Disease cycle (रोग चक्र):-

> The fungus survives in infected plant debris and volunteer plants.

(कवक संक्रमित फसल अवशेषों एवं स्वयं उगे पौधों में जीवित रहता है।)

> Spores spread through wind and rain splash, infecting new leaves during humid weather.

(बीजाणु हवा एवं वर्षा की छींटों द्वारा फैलकर नई पत्तियों को संक्रमित करते हैं।)

Management (प्रबंधन):-

> Use healthy, disease-free rhizomes for planting.

(रोपण हेतु स्वस्थ एवं रोगमुक्त प्रकंद का उपयोग करें।)

> Remove and destroy infected leaves and crop debris.

(संक्रमित पत्तियों एवं फसल अवशेषों को नष्ट करें।)

> Maintain proper spacing to improve air circulation.

(उचित दूरी रखें ताकि वायु संचार बना रहे।)

> Avoid overhead irrigation during prolonged humid conditions.

(अधिक आर्द्रता के समय ऊपर से सिंचाई से बचें।)

> Spray Mancozeb 0.25% (2.5 g/L) or Copper oxychloride 0.3% (3 g/L) at the first appearance of symptoms. Repeat every 10–15 days if necessary.
