Symptoms and control measures of White rust of Crucifers
White Rust (सफेद रस्ट):-
Causal Organism (रोगजनक):- Albugo candida (एल्बुगो कैंडिडा)
Type (प्रकार):- Oomycete (fungus-like organism)
[ऊमाइसीट (कवक जैसा जीव)]
Symptoms (लक्षण):-
> White, blister-like pustules (sporangia) on the underside of leaves and stems.
[पत्तियों और तनों के नीचे की तरफ सफेद, छाले जैसे दाने (बीजाणुधानियाँ)।]
> Hypertrophy and hyperplasia in floral parts leading to "staghead" or "cauliflower-like" deformation.
(पुष्प भागों में हाइपरट्रॉफी और हाइपरप्लासिया के कारण "स्टैगहेड" या "फूलगोभी जैसी" विकृति हो जाती है।)
Hypertrophy (हाइपरट्रॉफी):- Abnormal increase in the size of plant cells. Here cell size increases, but the number of cells remains the same.
(पौधों की कोशिकाओं के आकार में असामान्य वृद्धि। इसमें कोशिका का आकार बढ़ता है, लेकिन कोशिकाओं की संख्या वही रहती है।)
Hyperplasia (हाइपरप्लासिया):- Abnormal increase in the number of plant cells. Here cell division rate increases, leading to excessive tissue growth.
(पौधों की कोशिकाओं की संख्या में असामान्य वृद्धि। इसमें कोशिका विभाजन दर बढ़ जाती है, जिससे ऊतक की अत्यधिक वृद्धि होती है।)
> Reduced seed set and poor seed quality in systemic infections.
(प्रणालीगत संक्रमण में बीज का कम बनना और बीज की खराब गुणवत्ता।)
Epidemiology (महामारी विज्ञान):-
> Disease develops in cool (13–25°C), moist conditions with high humidity.
[रोग ठंडी (13-25 डिग्री सेल्सियस), उच्च आर्द्रता वाली नम स्थितियों में विकसित होता है।]
> Water splashes and wind help in dissemination.
(पानी के छींटे और हवा फैलने में मदद करते हैं।)
> Survives on crop debris and infected seeds.
(फसल के अवशेषों और संक्रमित बीजों पर जीवित रहता है।)
Management (प्रबंधन):-
> Grow resistant varieties (e.g., RH-30).
[प्रतिरोधी किस्में उगाएँ (जैसे, RH-30)।]
> Remove and destroy infected plant debris.
(संक्रमित पौधों के अवशेषों को हटाएँ और नष्ट करें।)
> Avoid late sowing which increases disease risk.
(देर से बुवाई से बचें, क्योंकि इससे रोग का खतरा बढ़ जाता है।)
> Seed treatment with Metalaxyl (Apron SD 35, 6 g/kg).
[मेटालैक्सिल (Apron SD 35, 6 ग्राम/किग्रा) के साथ बीज उपचार।]
> Foliar spray with Metalaxyl + Mancozeb (0.25%) or Ridomil Gold.
